what the heck is a sound bath anyway?

it’s hard to explain in words, but here goes…

a picture tells a 1k words

and now. with movement.

gongs. gongs. and more gongs.

do it at home.

of course, it’s way more powerful irl but maybe you don’t live near me. Or you want to try before you buy. This is for you.

Find a comfy place, turn off the lights (or put something over your eyes), snuggle up beneath a blanket if it’s cold, and listen to this on a good quality speaker or headphones.

NB: Don’t listen on a smartphone or cheap bluetooth speaker, you’ll miss all the super healing, low end frequencies.

upcoming sound baths:

“writing about music is like dancing about architecture”

Indeed. so come, experience it for yourself sometime.

how to prepare / what to bring:

  • BYO eye pillow or mask, pillow if you feel you need one - most venues provide yoga mats, bolsters and blankets, but call the venue directly (or read the confirmation email they send) to confirm

  • wear comfortable clothes - err on the side of warmth if it’s winter (your body temp will drop), inc socks. when your body goes into a deep rest state, you’ll get cold. Oodies are always welcome.

  • try to avoid caffeine for a couple of hours prior, and don’t come immediately after a large meal as you might be uncomfortable on your back for 60+ minutes

  • don’t be under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  • please be on time. Doors open >15min before start time, and we usually wait 5 minutes extra for any latecomers, but anything after that and we can’t let you in or risk disrupting the entire group (hot tip: be early - snag a spot in front of the gong - or your fav instruments)

  • come with an open mind and heart, and zero expectations. every sound bath experience is different.

Here’s what to expect

(although be sure to check the notes of the venue you’ve booked for and what they provide, as not all of them will supply blanket, bolster, mat etc)

I run a one or two day Sound Healing Basics workshop at least two times a year. The next one is at Grass Roots Yoga, St Kilda on 21 +23 February 2026.

Early bird tickets are on sale now. Get in quick as this usually sells out well before the early bird cutoff.
